Topic: Tendencies and developments in the field of manufacturing electric lamination
BRAZIL, Porto Alegre – conference SENAFOR 2010
From 20. – 22nd October 2010 the international conference SENAFOR was held in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Experts in the fields of forging, forming and powder metallurgy met in the Brazilian seaport Porto Alegre to exchange and present state of the art knowledge and experiences.
Dipl.-Ing. Axel Fuchs, President of technology consulting company afu-tech from Bad Waldsee in Southern Germany, was invited by Prof. Dr. Lirio Schaeffer, the Director of congress, to give a lecture about tendencies and developments in the field of manufacturing electric lamination. Based on an environmental study about the future global energy consumption, Axel Fuchs showed the enormous need of electric laminations, which are used for generators of wind- and waterpower plants for energy production and for industry and railway drives. Then the international accepted expert for stamping systems and stamping technology, gave an overview about the state of the art notching and blanking equipment. Furthermore he pointed out the requirements of the market and the customers, to future machine types and machine technology for cutting applications.
After being in charge of sales, project management and product engineering at MÜLLER WEINGARTEN and SCHULER for many years, Axel Fuchs is very sophisti-cated about the perception of machine manufacturer and the requirements of customers. Finally he gave a future outlook about tendencies in the develop-ment of machines for production of electric lamination. A fundamental conclusion of the lecture was, that the use of servopresses, for pure cutting applications, does not really make sense from economical point of view, contrary to the current recommendation of all press manufacturer in the market.
The lecture can be read in the conference transcript of "30° SENAFOR, 13a Conferencia Naciolal de Conformacao de Chapas".
